Designing a completely custom home has its benefits, and one of these is the opportunity to design a home that complements the land location.
Pilgrim is a fantastic example of unique home design that takes the challenge of an awkward, non-standard block, head on.
With three street frontages, the opportunity to create a private internal courtyard, surrounded by a ‘U’ shaped home was the obvious choice. The result is a unique perspective from every room, taking in views of a swimming pool, putting green, and covered Alfresco area.
The remaining outdoor perimeter wraps around two sides of the home. Split into a play area for the kids, and vege patch for a green-thumb.
Entry through the front entrance showcases views of the main living area, which flows through to a full sized picture window, inviting swimming pool views.
A comfortable dining room and adjacent galley kitchen feature an abundance of natural light through the use of skylights, and a butlers pantry to hide your culinary efforts. The living space also highlights a love of entertainment, featuring vinyl records, hi-fi system, and corner lounge.
Central to the large master bedroom is a king-sized bed, with a hidden walk-in robe behind, providing ample storage for any fashionista. The adjoined ensuite showcases an inviting free standing bath, which elegantly complements the oversized shower recess. Matched with a set of his and hers basins, this space is sure to impress.
With an abundance of wall space to admire artwork, the large hallway also serves as the perfect conduit to
link the multiple entertaining spaces, inclusive of a media room.
What’s left is a section of the home reserved for teenage children. Large bedrooms allow ample space for relaxation and storage – via built in robes. Featured is a kids retreat with ample space to break-free from study and enjoy various forms of entertainment, while keeping it localised to the wing.
Pilgrim is contemporary in stature, but direct in purpose. Entertainment is at the forefront here, however the emphasis on public and personal privacy also provide room to breathe, uninterrupted.
